I put a new NAS into service and moved all my digital movie files to it. The path UNC base name has changed but not the directory structure.

Is there a way to mass update the base path from

\\original server name\

to

\\new server name\

Please advise. Deleting the entire digital library and rescanning, re-looking up on IMDB, etc. would be prohibitive...

thanks.

Hi there!

Yeah, you can do that using relative file path - you'll find the option in Preferences (menu item "Tools-Preferences") "Expert options" tab.

If you didn't use the option, you need to activate it specifying the root folder - \\original server name\ - the program will update all the paths to relative paths.
After that, you need to change the root folder to \\new server name\

I didn't know it was that easy. So just to make sure, we don't need to do any re scanning here, correct?

Right, no rescanning is needed.
