I'd like to print my collection out but everytime I try to do so, it takes me to a page that says choose a template-only there are NO templates listed or I can create my own template. That page is freakin' scary looking! I just don't have the time to learn HOW to do that right now. I just need to print out the collection in the genre format so I know how many comedies, dramas, action advernture, horror, TV shows, etc. I own.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Why not print out several reports?
You can select "Show", and then in place of "ALL" - choose the genre you want to print. AMM will quickly search and display all of the movies that have the genre you selected, with a total number displayed at the bottom.

(Keep in mind; if you have selected multiple genres for any given movie - it will appear in each list that has a matching genre selected.)
In my collection the movie "10,000 BC" is labeled with action, adventure, drama, fantasy, and sci-fi - so it would appear in five separate lists based on genre. The only way to prevent this would be to assign only one genre to each of your movies.

Or, you could "Export" to plain txt and sort by "First Genre".

Code: Select all

Printing out

Post #3by dashopaholic » Tue May 26, 2015 4:51 am

I found the "show" but HOW do I print that selection from there? IF I export it, I don't have microsoft anything on my computer, so it exports it to notepad which is a mess to read!

Num;Genre;Title
1;"Tv series, Comedy";
2;"Tv series, Comedy, Sci-fi";"3rd Rock from the Sun"
3;"Tv series, Comedy, Family";"Blue Collar TV, season 1"
4;"Tv series, Crime, Dramedy, Mystery";"Boston Legal, the complete series"
5;"Tv series, Action adventure, Crime, Drama, Mystery, Spy, Thriller";"Burn Notice, seasons 1-6"

I just want something that lists the Titles in each genre by abc order so I can quickly see WHAT we own so I don't duplicate!!!

thanks,

lisa
Thanks!

You could try Exporting (NOT printing) to:
* HTML
* CHM (Compiled html)
* PDF

And then, print those results.

I honestly haven't tried it personally, but will; and will get back to you.

(EDIT)
Try "Show" <pick a genre>, and then export to HTML
(Select "Alternative" as your template),
and name the HTML to match the genre you chose.

Looks great and lists the total number of titles at the top of the HTML page.

You can export your catalog to a variety of other forms.
Under TOOLS > EXPORT TO >, the last two options are meant for OpenOffice.
ODS files are similar to Excel; while ODT files are comparable to Word. (The options do not label them as Apache, but their formats are OpenOffice.)
