Two questions on the new version:
- Can you import only the name of the actor (and not the role in the film) as in the previous version?
- Can you limit the number of imported actors? then in some way change later the number of actors?

Thanks

Hi!
Unfortunately, you can't import only the actor's name.

As for the number, you get more actors from imdb if the option Get more details is activated in Preferences - Online databases tab. Otherwise you can't limit the number of actors.

If can help someone..
I would suggest a "solution" using MS access for my first question....
I think I understand that the databese of AMM is a MS access standard format.... so ...
I opened the file with access...
Selected table "actor-link"...
Eliminated the column "role"...
Created a new column "role" empty...
voilà... the role of the actors is gone... :D

I realize that this post is quite old, but still relevant!

It is not necessary to delete the entire column - just the contents, will remove the "Role" from the movie cards.
Could I just delete the column "Role" and not re-create it?
Would the database still work without it? This way "Role" could be permanently disabled for those, like myself, who do not wish to list them.

I will backup my database and try this to see if it works.
Be back soon...

Edit -
Of course, the entire database is messed up when you delete this column.
Putting it back did restore the database, though.
It is my opinion that this data (Role) should be a choice for the user instead of the way it is right now.
