Is there anyway to batch update the description field only?

I have spent weeks adding custom covers to over 1,300 movies and I really don't want to do it again...but every time I run a batch update it resets the covers! I just want to update the description field.

It would be convenient if the user had the option to check which fields they wanted updated. Perhaps a drop-down box that allows the user to select which fields they want updated. This would put the user in more direct control of individual or batch updating.
