Hello Gemini,

I wouldn't know where to begin. AllMyBooks has gotten so much better the last year. But in random order:

    The interface is excellent!
Updating book information through numerous sites (Amazon.com/Amazon.de/Google and so on) especially seeing as I have lots of old books without ISBN number
The fact you can add not only the cover of a book but also illustrations
The fact that you can add a Biography (with picture) of the author
The virtual shelf (my idea to have this added :D hope others enjoy it)
And on and on. There is just to much to mention

Overall it helps me keep track of the books I have and the location they are in. I even uploaded all to my website so whenever I am in an antiquarian bookshop and want to buy a book from them, I can have a look to be sure I don't already have that particular book (I sometimes forget if I already have a book :D )

I am a new user of AMB, I have only been using it for a few months but the things I like about it are....

1. The ease with which I was able to take my MS Access database and export the data to Excel in order to import into AMB.
2. The ease in adding new books through the online services.
3. The visual appeal of the virtual shelf (although I would like to be able to use it in conjunction with my custom flags).
4. Now I do not have to manually add authors and the other relevant data.

I would like to see more functionality and personalization with the reports but I am content for now.

What I like about the software

Hi

I just started getting audible books becasue now I can listen to them while doing something else. I wanted a way to keep track of my books in one place and this software has provided that for me.

I like the looks of the interface...the book shelf is my favorite.
I like the ease of use.
I like being able to sort the books the way I want.
I like being able to listen to my books within the software even though it does links to my media player.

You all have done a really good job and I am so glad I found you.

What makes me absolute happy in AMB is opportunity to put data for books without typing all that junk! That saves me a giant amount of time!
Opportunity to create user-defined fields is also excellent!

Keep a great work!

I stumbled across All My Books just today and I am THRILLED with it. What I like best is everything 8-) but especially the option to add my own fields, making the database highly configurable. Terrific! I would like to be able to add a checkbox field too but that's asking a lot and I'm quite happy with the program as it is.

I also like being able to add my own categories - fantastic. And to add my own comments.

And of course, filling in everything from online sources by entering only the ISBN. Fast and easy!

Somebody here mentioned adding author bio and photo - I didn't see that yet but it will be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure I'll discover much more that I'll like but after all, this is my first day!

Good work, and I wish you great success.

Hi,
Love AMB, it's fast and easy to use. Great way to keep track of my books. I just use it for my personal library, I read A LOT and this helps me when I shop for books so I don't buy books I've got or have already read. The only thing that would make it better for me would be if the template to make your own print list format was easier to use, I'm sure it's fine for someone who knows more about computers than me but I need it to be more simplified.
Thanks

After evaluating about 7 EBook organisers I settled (&paid for) ABM becasue unlike the others which each had some but not all of the features I was looking for ABM seems to have all. They included:
1. Handles most files with ease, including the dreaded .azw
2. Has a nice virtual bookshelf.
3. Has functional support. (I think... still testing this)
4. Handles Audiobooks.
5. Relatively simple and straightforward interface.
Thanks! :)
